In some instances when the bite is ideal but a specific problem such as very mild crowding or spacing is present, limited treatment may be an option. Sometimes these problems can be corrected with a removable appliance or if fixed appliances (braces) are needed, it is often for a shorter time than comprehensive treatment and usually on fewer teeth.
Other types of problems where limited treatment may be an option are:
- A crossbite that does not involve the jaws
- Space creation for implants
- Uprighting of teeth prior to placement of a crown or bridge by your dentist
- Eruption of a tooth to expose the root if it is fractured
During the initial examination, Dr. Ritucci will determine if you are a candidate for limited treatment.
